Welcome to iSpyaGypsy & the odd Donkey, based in the Bay of Plenty, New Zealand! We are dedicated to working with Gypsy Cob youngsters and developing their incredible individual characters into fun, unflappable ponies for kids and adults alike.

At iSpyaGypsy & the odd Donkey, we hand-pick only genuine, registered purebred Gypsy Cobs from proven bloodlines. Their journey begins right from weaning, making sure it is fun and rewarding, through focusing on positive experiences and playful groundwork that incorporates liberty tools. Watching their progress and realising their potential is an absolute adventure! We have a FB page dedicated to iSpyaGypsy & the odd Donkey where you can follow their progress through photos and videos as they grow into brave, curious, and characterful ponies.
Our inspiration
Well, I bet you can still remember the name of your favourite pony—the one you used to slide off its backside, crawl underneath, share your lolly mixture with, and disappear on adventures until sunset. That’s the kind of magic I want for every kid: unflappable ponies and unforgettable memories!
The perfect home
... is where a pony gets to be a pony—muddy feathers, tangled manes, and all! Real ponies for real kids! Our ponies are trained in paddocks full of creative “obstacles”. Forget perfect weather—rain, wind, or sunshine, these ponies are out there ... no fair weather riding here! They learn to dodge flapping tarps, squelch through boggy puddles, climb steep hills, bush bash into valleys, move through herds of cows, and accept tractors, quads, side by sides and of course the 'odd Donkey' as part of everyday life. Around here, ponies embrace new adventure—mud stains guaranteed, boring days not included!
