MacAllister (Mac)
Sire: JR
Age: rising 13
Height: 16.3hh He’s big!
Breeding; MJK sports horse (3/4 Clydie ¼ Thoroughbred - I do not have any information on his Dam)
Colour: Strawberry Roan

History:

I bought Mac when he was 7 … I sold him at 9 and bought him back at 10.

He is better grazing alone. He does graze well with the mini and the donkeys and has grazed well with Bean (only because hes faster than him) Mac will chase anything and continuously and tirelessly play and chase and zoomies! He grazes perfectly with a stupid low electric tape between him and them and is ridiculously taller than the tape so leans over and grooms the others …licks the donkeys from head to toe. I graze him right beside the others no problem at all.  I ride him through them …lead them off him over the farm trails no problem at all. I use him to lead the young horses out saddled up and then swap over on to them and lead him back.

The good stuff:

I ride out alone all the time in howling gales over the hills and he doesn’t give a hoot.  He is bitted or bitless…halter and bareback! English or Western saddle.

He has basic liberty tricks absolutely down pat and helpfully swings his bum into the mounting block…logs…trough…gates so you can actually climb on him!  He’s tall and very Clydie in his character but is lighter than a Clydie in his build. He humors me in the obstacle course and is happy to participate. I have played bending poles and barrel racing on him at sloth speed that’s his full bore lol.

I have left him for well over a month while we were overseas and just came straight home and jumped on him…no difference at all.

When I first owned him I was living at the beach we would ride out of the paddock through the forest and on to the beach. He loves it!  He loves water…youll be able to see videos of him in his pond 😊

Totally more WHOA than GO but can get up and get cracking!

He can totally jump.  He can jump big but it is not good for his legs to be jumping too big (my opinion) so I will not be considering a show jumping family for him. He is big! He hunted with the previous owners and he transitions into more GO than WHOA like a lot of hunters.

He fits in a float but hes big and tall. He was trucked previously.
He’s living the dream here with us…everything is in slo-mo for him. He likes routine. He doesn’t care less about tractors…quads.. sulkies whizzing by.
My ideal for him is as a happy hacker and with a confident rider … hunting…hes very relaxed with us and will take time to readjust to a different lifestyle.

Hes currently barefoot because I simply ride out from the property …he doesn’t need to go down the road surface. He has whilte hooves and I would recommend he is shod…because like all white hooves they are a constant maintenance and oiling. I trim his hooves myself and he is as crusiy as you could be …he even puts each hoof up on the hoof jack as I get to it.

He has a custom made wool lined canvas rug & neck cover and two Weatherbeta rugs that will go with him.

His quirks:

He does care less about bot flies and goes into melt down with them…I have recently started spraying his legs with Citronella which seems to be helping keep them away.

He does NOT like ointment 😊 but gets it anyway on his white nose. Behaves like a child when trying to wash their face.

He can smell an inexperienced rider from 50 feet and is cheeky enough to have them on! Nothing nasty just forgets how to do anything …like what hes told.
He sorts his issues out quickly by just growling him…he then goes “oh yeah I remember”.  I have seen him totally drop someone because he didn’t appreciate being whacked with a whip and went into full on tantrum!. So don’t be fooled by his 99% cruisey character he can react!

If you want to see pics and videos of him have a look at his album  go to photos/album and scroll along to his name.  The majority of his pics and photos (in the hundreds) are actually on my personal fb page. I have only recently added him to the iSpyaGypsy page. If you want to see more of him message me and I will friend you on FB so you can access them.

His price:

He is not cheap! I paid good money to get him back and he was a better version of himself with  a year of experience out show jumping and hunting  they did a great job with him and a lot of flat work.  He can work really nicely on the flat for a big fella.

I am offering him at $15000 which is  substantially lower than I paid. He can stay with us as long as necessary but he must be insured (at buyer cost) while on the property and a payment plan in place. He will not leave the property until he is fully paid. A 10% non refundable deposit will hold him.

If you would like to know anything more about him send me a messenger or give me a ring 0204477974.  If you know someone genuine that he may suit then feel free to share this post and connect them to the iSpyaGypsy & the odd Donkey  page.
